He is a lecturer and researcher of communication studies in the School of Humanities, President University. He has qualification in Media and cultural studies with Drs (Communication), M.Phil. (Media Studies), Ph.D. (Media and Cultural Studies). He is involved with teaching dealing with Media Theories, Qualitative Research Methods, Critical Discourse Analysis and Film and Cultural Studies.
His research interests include a range of topics in Media and Public Discourses, Media engagement and Communication for Social Change. More specifically his previous research involved Media Engagement in Transitional Spheres in Indonesia, Dominant Discourse on News Making Decision in Indonesian Newspapers and the Phases of Change and Media Contribution to Democratic Proses in Indonesia. His current project is Social Media and Political Participation in South Sulawesi. He also supervises undergraduate and postgraduate student levels under his research interests.
